Nichola Dixon remembers playing bingo with her mother at the local Mecca Bingo club in New York Street when she was about 16. Although how she could have been playing bingo at sixteen, when the legal age is eighteen, is quite beyond me?? She also says that she remembers it really wasn’t a very cool thing to do. But that was a far cry from the presenting of a glitzy bingo show for ITV and this is exactly what she is presently doing with Michael Underwood and Melinda Messenger.

Thirty three year old Nichola says that she is ready to be a star in her own right now and is really enjoying life on the set of the late night show, Bingo Night Live. She also says that people are calling her the next “Carol Vorderman” but she really doesn’t think that she has what it takes to be a mathematics genius. She believes that the link between the computer and the show is what makes it so much fun, as viewers can see all the latest stats and where the winners are. The bingo show has already had over 2 000 winners and Nicola does find it a little nerve wrecking as it goes out live. She is a former pupil of the “fame school” in Leeds where former class mates include Melanie Brown, more commonly known as Scary Spice, and Rebecca Callard, the daughter of Beverley Callard of Coronation Street fame.
