Funnily enough I actually missed this bit of news and was really surprised that I had as I love the aspect of bingo that includes sharing the wealth; however I felt that I should report it in retrospect so here you have it.
On Valentines Day last week, one of the most favoured online bingo sites in the North East of the UK, Crown Bingo, pledged to open their hearts and share their takings for the day with the Variety Club. The Variety Club was established in 1991 that run a Gold Heart promotion annual, where they sell Gold Heart badges to raise funds to assist ill and disabled children in the UK. The have since inception managed to raise ₤16.5 million to provide assistance and vital equipment to children and in 2007 186 children were provided with wheelchairs.
Crown Bingo’s donation included ₤10 for every new player that signed up, and half the proceeds of the pool prizes for games played between 7pm and 9pm on the day. The Managing Director of Crown Bingo, Dan Smyth said that they are always keen to support charities and the Gold Heart Appeal on Valentines day seemed to provide the perfect link up.
