We have often discussed the fact that a regular game of bingo keeps the elderly fit, both physically and mentally, and although this is not a UK story, it certainly bears mentioning in this regard. 107 year old Sarah de Florio who is a resident at Caldwell Skilled Nursing Centre in the US, still plays bingo every Thursday night. Pensioners Hold Bingo Night to Raise Funds
Sunday, May 18th, 2008A group of pensioners who are residents at Middi Haines Court in Highworth, held a bingo night to assist a police officer who had lost his leg in a motor bike accident. The were very fond of PC Miles who used to pop in and have a cup of tea with the elderly ladies on occasion. He lost his leg when he was riding home and had a collision with a 4 x 4. Forty Eight year old PC Miles is married with two small children and said that he was just happy to still be alive. (more…)
